Indulge Yourself!
Vacations are all about having fun and splurging. Whether it’s shopping for new clothes, sinfully enjoying the delights of Orlando's restaurants and ice-cream parlors, or the need for speed, treat yourself to some of Orlando’s fun choices. Check out ten of our Orlando, Florida vacation fun favorites below.
1. Take a trip to the Macaroni Grill for great pasta and pizza dishes. Great bread too as starters - Yummy! Chili's have a great Quesadilla Explosion too if you’re feeling hungry!! Afterwards, head to Coldstone Creamery for some fantastic ice-cream treats if you can still handle it!
2. To cure the need for speed, race around the track in a go-kart at Fun Spot Action Park. There are a variety of tracks at different skill levels. Hold on to your hat and hit the gas!
3. Need to chill out after a few days at the parks??!! Take a trip up to Silver Springs also known as Natures Theme Park. Ride their world famous glass bottom boats and see the crystal clear waters of the natural springs. Plenty of wildlife to see too with gators everywhere!
4. Don’t forget about the essentials such as bottled water, suntan lotion, and the most important necessity, a portable fan. All this and more can be found at Walgreens or the great 24 Hour Walmarts that are dotted around! Don't forget to decide on a meeting spot and time when you go in as you just might get lost in here!
5. For an extra special treat, head over to Downtown Disney and experience the fabulous Cirque du Soleil La Nouba. It is a “must see” for travelers who want to treat the family to an amazing performance. Unbelievable what these guys can do!!! Mental note - must start Yoga lessons:-)
6. Fancy a special treat? Go to the 5 star Gaylord Palms hotel for the buffet lunch or dinner at their Mediterranean themed Villa De Flora restaurant. The restaurant is based in the middle of the hotel with an atrium above it and plenty of plants inside so has the feeling of being outdoors. Enjoy the fantastic food and great silver service at an excellent price and afterward, check out the baby gators and Koi fish in the many ponds dotted around.
7. Enjoy the outdoors and catch a round of golf at one of the many golf courses in Orlando. Check out Celebration golf course or Highlands Reserve on Highway 27. Have lunch in The Market Street Cafe at downtown Celebration while you're there - great milk shakes and a beautiful view of the lake! You’re sure to see some sand cranes and beautiful nature scenes.
8. Enjoy some good old rock ‘n roll and delicious food at Hard Rock Cafe. Pick up a Hard Rock logo shirt or memorabilia as a souvenir.
9. Too tired for shopping? Never!!
Orlando is a shopping paradise with the Orlando Premium Outlets and The Prime Outlets on either end of International Drive. The Florida Mall is excellent too with lots of shops and an excellent food court to satisfy your hunger while you take a break!
10. Go play Crazy Golf! There are some brilliant crazy golf parks along Highway 192 and also on International Drive. It’s amazing how much fun you can have and how it can take your stress away.
And then there’s still the attractions - Aaah this really must be the happiest place on earth!
